THE SERVANT NOBLES
The Museum of History of Java in Yogyakarta does not only store old artifacts, but also stores historical stories that are very unfortunate to be unknown. Museum located on Jl. Parangtritis KM 5.5 Sewon Bantul also provides an Education Board and Story Teller that provides historical stories that should be understood by the public.
One of them is the fact that there were nobles who turned out to have a knight spirit and devoted themselves to the people. In one of the rooms in this museum, precisely at the Karaton Pavilion, there is an information board that includes the story of their story.
R.M.Ng Ranggawarsita
Raden Ngabehi Rangga Warsita, a man who was considered the last great Javanese poet, Born named as Bagus Burhan, Ranggawarsita was considered a dangerous journalist whose writings could arouse indigenous fighting spirit. Because of the increasingly tense work atmosphere, Ranggawarsita consequently left the editorial position of the Bramartani newspaper in 1870.
Ranggawarsita died mysteriously on December 24, 1873. Strangely, the date of the death was actually found in his latest work, namely Serat Sabdajati which he wrote himself. This raises the suspicion that Ranggawarsita died because he was sentenced to death, so he could know exactly when the day of his death. During his life, Ranggawarsita actively participated in preserving Javanese philosophy and culture comprehensively through his works.
RMP Sosrokartono
Another figure is Raden Mas Panji Sosrokartono, Brother of RA Kartini. He was a Genius Polyglot who mastered 24 Foreign Languages and 10 Archipelago Languages, had worked as the most expensive paid war reporter at the New York Herald Tribune, then held the position of head of the League of Nations translator but later returned to Indonesia, Living in Bandung and serving the nation's struggle and become a spiritual healer.
Ki Hajar Dewantara
Ki Hajar Dewantara, may be known by all the people of Indonesia, but not many know, this simple man named Suwardi was an Pura Pakualaman Nobleman, but he put all his nobility and then served the education of Indonesian people.
Ki Ageng Suryomentaram
Whereas Ki Ageng Suryomentaram was actually a prince, Hamengkubuwana the 7th son in power in the Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Sultanate, laying his knighthood, becoming a farmer while providing a spirit of struggle with Javanese philosophical values summarized in Kawruh Beja (the science of happiness).
The 4 Javanese Nobles were clearly an example that many of the Javanese nobles did not only enjoy their nobility but also contributed to the dedication and sacrifice for the peoples. This interesting information can be completely told by story tellers in the History of Java Museum.
Augmented reality in HoJ
Another attraction of this museum is the existence of information technology that is pinned on their education boards so that visitors in addition to getting historical education, can also have fun with Augmented reality for self-photos. In addition, there is also a diorama room with the name Selfie Mataraman Village that gives visitors the opportunity to become part of the great history that exists on this island of Java.
One of the Dioramas
So if you stop by Jogja, this museum is clearly one of the objects that should not be missed, educating, while still providing entertainment.
